Parker moved to Lititz in 2020 due to the pandemic. When a post on Facebook showed that a Pride flag was vandalized multiple times in 2021, Parker helped organize a local Pride event. Parker and a group of volunteers from this event recognized the lack of resources available to members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans folks. Motivated by their desire to build a better life for transgender youth and to prevent teenage suicide, this group decided they needed to continue to bring social events and resources to the local LGBTQ+ community, and Lititz Chooses Love was formed! Parker is guided by the philosophy that “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work.” They love connecting with people, understanding their needs, and helping provide them with resources. That philosophy is further applied to teaming up with other local organizations to educate them and ensure they are creating a safe place for LGBTQ+ community members. Parker wakes up chipper and ready to dive into the work of making Lititz Chooses Love an accessible resource center for Lancaster County’s LGBTQ+ community and beyond!
