As a former high school teacher, Laura is deeply concerned about the needs of LGBTQ+ teens and their families. Growing up in a very conservative Christian household as a disabled woman, she herself faced discrimination in many areas of her life. She decided to dedicate her energy to advocacy, which eventually led her to the nonprofit world, and she became involved with Lititz Chooses Love in the fall of 2022. As the Director of Development, Laura is now known as the resident planner, organizer, and administrator extraordinaire! She’s not shy about using her voice to reach out to community partners and get the resources needed to support the organization’s mission. In fact, a book about her life could be titled The Art of Talking Too Much! Laura envisions major growth in Lititz Chooses Love’s future: an increase in advocacy, community programs, and mutual aid, and a larger staff to make an even greater impact in Lancaster County!
